Unlock underwater scenario by sensor PCG-1000X

DWTEK ROV’s layout is designed openly to fit a wide range of usage, so far, our ROV had supported missions such as oceanographic and aquaculture research (ecosystem and underwater biomaterial research), underwater infrastructure inspection and offshore wind farm maintenance and operation, hull maintenance, and other CVI and GVI tasks.

Throughout these years, through all the missions we had, the most important finding is that ROV needs to transfer back the underwater data, such as depth, and directions, accurately.

The sensor

The sensor technology supports underwater missions to report the underwater scenario, DWTEK sensor – PCG-1000X is exclusively designed for subsea inertial positioning and navigation system and integrates pressure, compass, and gyroscope into a single unit. The heading accuracy is around ± 2°, roll and pitch accuracy is ± 1°, the depth rating is up to 3,000m, the sensor is for your stability while flying like a bird in the water.

  • Heading and compassing: PCG-1000X calculate the heading, pitch, roll, and turn via protocol RS232 and compass calibration and provides attitudes parameters of the ROV.
  • The pressure sensor of PCG-1000X senses the underwater pressure, has an accuracy of 0.05 %FS, which can be converted into the depth (meter/feet), of freshwater or seawater through the formula, and provides the flying height of the ROV.

Overall, the sensor records the heading and compass direction data, the depth, and other conditions, and it’s crucial to the tasks such as:

  1. Ecosystem study, seabed research, and aquaculture fish farms observation.
  2. Underwater infrastructures O&M, inspection, and repair.
  3. Sunken ships search and location identification.
